March 2017 Newsletter
Spring seems to be taking its time here on the south coast but that hasn’t stopped our Brighton & Hove lunch on 21st March from nearly selling out with almost 50 attendees booked, so be sure to bring lots of business cards!
We also have our Eastbourne lunch on 17th March, sponsored by Humphrey & Co – come along for a delicious two-course lunch and welcome drink surrounded by like-minded businesswomen. The lunch is filling up fast, so be sure to book soon if you would like to join us!
If you know anyone who’s new to networking and is looking to get started, the Ladies Lunch Clubs are a fantastic event for beginners with our ethos of good food and good company. We have no membership fees or no long-term commitments.
We hope you can join us for one of our lunches this month – as usual you can find all of our dates at the bottom of this newsletter.
Lifetime ISA Launch – April 2017!
A Lifetime ISA can be opened by anyone between the ages of 18 and 40. Savings of up to £4,000 a year made before the individual’s 50th birthday will earn a Government bonus of 25% – a potential bonus of up to £1,000 a year. There is no minimum contribution.
The Lifetime ISA can only be used to save for a deposit for a first home or to save for retirement. Where the savings are used as a deposit on a home, the bonus is only payable as long as the home does not cost more than £450,000. If the ISA is used to save for retirement, the savings and the Government bonus can be withdrawn tax-free once the individual reaches his or her 60th birthday.
If the savings are withdrawn for any other purposes, the Government bonus is lost and a 5% charge is also payable.
If you would like more information about this new way to invest your savings or if you have any other money matter enquiries, please talk to your lunch hosts Emily or Lyndsey who will be more than happy to help.
