Firstly I would like to sincerely apologise for not being able to attend the November Ladies lunch. I would however like to thank you all for your support over this last year. Being a sponsor for this type of event was very new to me and something that as many of you know made me feel very nervous. However I must be becoming accustomed to public speaking, as after being asked my Lara to be the sponsor for 2018, I have decided to take the plunge and do it all over again.
2017 has been an exciting year. Being only our 3rd year we are still growing and taking on new and innovative treatments. With Aesthetics and hair removal being our speciality, we launched Hair No More, a 2nd generation IPL machine for the painless, affordable, permanent removal of hair from all areas of the body. It has fast become one of the most successful treatments that we offer with amazing results.
We also ran a 100 Day Reset programme for skin transformations that I am just about to publish the results of. The results from the clients who took part were amazing and just shows what we can offer the skin in terms of results. Keep an eye out on our website and I will be posting some photos up very soon. www.thebrightonbeautysalon.co.uk
We set up our YouTube channel which is still in its infancy. However we have started to post video blogs. This will be hub to showcase all our treatments and products and just generally tell you what we get up to. We would love you to subscribe to our channel which is: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCZPXBhkQiDkTDCtcf8eelQQ
I have just returned from a trek through Cambodia to Angkor Wat for the Chestnut Tree House Children’s hospice. This really was one of the biggest challenges of my life. I went to China and trekked parts of the Great Wall a couple of years ago for the same charity, but Cambodia was a much bigger challenge. We contended with trekking through rice paddies which were flooded in parts. We also had some torrential rain whilst we were there. But the biggest challenge was the heat and humidity which at times reached 40 degrees with 80% humidity. My legs were horrendously swollen and bright red from heat rashes. It became really difficult to walk on occasion. What kept me going was the support of fantastic people that I went with, one of whom was my 22 year old son, the amazing scenery and Cambodian people who waved and smiled as we walked through their villages, and also the fact that the children of the Chestnut Tree face bigger challenges and obstacles every day of their lives. I really can’t complain. I am now considering Peru and the Inca trails in 2 years’ time!
In the New Year we have another amazing new aesthetic skin treatment coming and I really can’t wait to tell you all about it. We are one of the very first salons in the Brighton and Hove area who are going to be offering this, and it really does bring about the most brilliant results. So if you are wanting to banish wrinkles or lift hooded eyes, without the need for surgery or botox, then this really will be a treatment that you will be interested in.
I hope to bring along some interesting speakers so that you don’t have to listen to my dulcet tones each time and get you as excited about our salon as we are.
I would like to wish you all the most amazing Christmas and fabulous New Year. I’m looking forward to an amazing 2018.

5 tools for great social media visuals
No matter which social media platform you use, content now seems to be mainly driven by colourful and engaging visuals.
Images, videos and collages are a great way to support the message you are trying to get across and can add additional layers to your social media post. Take a client testimonial for example – a short video is much more engaging than written text and doesn’t require any equipment other than a smart phone. Read more…
