If you are a seasoned LinkedIn user then you have probably heard of the Social Selling Index (often referred to as SSI).

This is LinkedIn’s own league table. It can give you an insight into how your profile is performing against your peers in your industry as well as your connections. Having undertaken some research recently it does appear to, on occasion, do some strange things… For example, my SSI score has dropped from 82 to 73 in the last few months and yet my engagement and ‘results’ from LinkedIn have been the best to date!

From speaking to LinkedIn ‘experts’ it seems it should be taken as part of a wider picture and is good to look at when your SSI is low (below 45) as it is easier to make improvements at that level.
