Tree of Hope- Transforming the health of sick and disabled children

By one-time Sponsors Tree of Hope

If your child is disabled or very ill, you will get all the support you need. Right? Sadly not and that’s where Tree of Hope comes in. This is Teddy and he has Epilepsy, Autism and Cerebral Palsy and he is pictured on his Innowalk. His life has been changed for the better by his Innowalk- a pioneering, motorised device that provides the opportunity for physical activity. This allows Teddy to make guided repetitive movements whilst upright, stimulating his mobility and helping with eating and speaking as the movements help to tone the relevant muscles.Teddy’s Mum says he loves feeling he can move around like other children, and he works out on his Innowalk when she is on her treadmill providing lots of family fun.Sadly, such life-changing equipment is not available on the NHS despite the many benefits it can bring so we helped Teddy’s family raise over £20,000 to get the Innowalk and continue to help them fundraise for the ongoing maintenance of this and to help with Teddy’s other needs. We work alongside the NHS to help families get the equipment, operations and therapies they need. Increasing NHS waiting lists and lack of funds to pay for everything that is available to help children means that families turn to us when given the devastating news that the NHS can’t fund what would make a life-changing or sometimes life-saving difference to their child. If you know a family that can benefit from our support to fundraise for their child’s needs call us on 01892 535525 or email families@treeofhope.org.uk or visit www.treeofhope.org.uk
